"I had some garments distressed in ways minor but beyond my capability to repair. My efforts to do so were humiliatingly incompetent, It took me an hour to sew a button back on a shirt, and not only did the repair look like someone did it with their feet in the dark, it came loose within minutes of use. There were several shirts and some pants with that problem.
I also had a duffel bag strap that had come unstitched, and needed sturdy, load-bearing repair that I could have confidence in while traveling, walking around distant cities and tromping through airports. There was no way I could fix that convincingly. I was in despair.
Then I submitted these garments to Mend for therapy. I said that I didn't need exact matches on the buttons, as long as they were well secured.
After a lightning quick turnaround, my clothes came back immaculately repaired. Not only did the short buttons match, but the pants now have a metal stud sort of button that wild horses couldn't pull out. The duffel bag strap is more securely affixed now than it was when it was new, the stitches putting the others on the strap to shame. On top of all that, the returned clothes were so tidily, even elegantly folded that it seemed a shame to wreck that by hanging them up.
You can tell by the work that Sarah becomes one with the garment, or is a thimble whisperer, or a thread empath or something. Seriously, I'm so glad that there are affordable artisans like this in our world with expertise in things I'll never be able to comprehend, and that they live in my zip code."

"I had a sweater, an unevenly-striped sweater with non-traditional colors, that a guinea pig had gnawed a hole in. I assumed it was unfixable but wore it anyway. Then Sarah got her hands on it, and it's like nothing ever happened. I have no idea how she was able to match those odd colors, in that uneven pattern, but it's like we never even owned a guinea pig. I considered witchcraft, but I think she is just that legit."
